Beth Brier
Artistic Director

Beth received her training at the Pennsylvania Ballet School as a scholarship student under the direction of Barbara Weisberger. She was soloist with Dance Theatre of Pennsylvania and Jazz Dance Theatre of Pennsylvania. She has produced events with such notables as Debra Brown, Emmy Award Winning Choreographer of Cirque du Soleil. After Teaching in 8 states and traveling as Master Teacher for many years, Beth created BB's Dance & Circus Arts of Tampa Bay with the vision of providing children with professional level training and performing opportunities in a fun and stimulating environment. 
In 2008 Beth was awarded a grant from the Pinellas County Arts Council to further her education and research in building the Circus Arts program for her school.
Her students have been seen in local high profile performances for Big Brothers/Big Sisters annual fundraiser, Make A Wish annual fundraiser, various corporate events and weekly Saturday night performances at Casa Tina's Mexican Restaurant in downtown Dunedin.
 

Marsha Wilson
Classical Ballet

 Marsha began dancing with Academy of Ballet Arts in St. Petersburg, Fl. under the guidance of Suzanne Pomerantzeff and Lester Jacobsen. She attended the University of Utah as a dance major before joining the Milwaukee Ballet. Upon returning to Florida, she danced with the Southern Ballet Theatre in Orlando for several years. Currently, she choreographs works for performances and international ballet competitions and teaches for several dance studios in the local area.

 


Albena Arnaudova
Classical Ballet

Albena Arnaudova received her training at the Bolshoi Academy of Ballet in Moscow on a full scholarship from the Bulgarian School of the Arts. She toured extensively through Europe and Asia performing classical ballets such as the Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Giselle, Cinderella and Don Quixote.
Albena has an outstanding reputation as a Master Teacher and is well-respected in the Tampa Bay area. She recently was an Adjunct Professor, teaching classical ballet at the University of South Florida, and is currently the Director of Dance at Blake High School of the Performing Arts in Tampa.



Cathy Scavelli
Tap

Cathy has been teaching tap for over 13 years. She teaches all styles from rhythm tap and jazz-tap to Broadway style and funk. Clean technique is a very important part of her classes. Her instructor, Lorraine Judd, was mentored by tap greats such as Gregory Hines, Leon Collins and Henry LeTang. Cathy continues her tap education by attending various tap festivals throughout the country with Master tap teachers such as Dianne Walker, Acia Gray, Gene Medler, Lynn Schwab and Jason Samuels Smith.


Megan Brazil
Modern/Graham Technique

 A magnificent and energetic woman with the spark and effervescence of the classic Graham technique, Megan has been choreographing, dancing and teaching professional modern dance for over 25 years. After receiving her MFA in dance from The Tisch School of the Arts in NYC, Megan toured and performed professionally. In New York she established her own modern dance company, “Megatron”. Megan trained directly under members of the Martha Graham Company as a dancer and professional instructor in the Graham technique. In London, Megan taught Graham technique at The Laban Center for Dance and Movement and at the London Contemporary Dance.

In 1998 Megan created and founded The Martha Graham Workout for the New York Sports Clubs to reach non-dancers with the incredible training benefits of the technique. While on tour in Switzerland, Megan began her studies in yoga and continued in New York at the Jivamukti School. She is a certified Yoga teacher as well as a teacher of the New York City Ballet Workout. She has had the honor to travel throughout the world as a personal movement coach for students such as Barbara Walters, Leonard Lauder, Charlotte Beers, Gustavo Cisneros, Ludivico Antinori, and Ed Meyer.

Children's Program

Morgan Dixon
Jazz, Tap, Circus Arts

Morgan is trained in classical ballet, all styles of jazz, modern, tap and Circus Arts. She recently attended the Broadway Theater Project, a very prestigous national summer intensive held annually in Tampa for Broadway bound talent. Along with running our Performing Companies and creating great choreography for our various productions, she works with Eight O'Clock Theater and performs locally in various venues. We're holding onto her for as long as possible, but she does have her eye on the Big Apple!

 


Ben Zimmerman
Aerial Arts

Ben has trained under Cirque du Soleil athletes in Montreal as well as professionals from Miami, Seattle and New Mexico. He coaches all levels of aerial arts including fabric, static trapeze and Spanish web from children to adults.


Catie Brier
Acrobatics & Contortion

After a full schedule of dance training for years, Catie decided to run off and join the circus. Since then she has trained with Mongolian Contortionist, Sergima and
Master Lu Yi of China at the San Francisco Circus Center. This is the only  US training facility for classic style contortion. Catie now performs at many events throughout the US, including performances at Alcatraz, the Queen Mary cruise ship and Super Bowl 2008. Catie manages to fit into her intense training and performing regime returning to the Tampa Bay Area for workshops and performances with Dance & Circus Arts.

Kurt Krynski

Kurt is trained in classical ballet, partnering, modern,
contact improvisation & trapeze/aerial. He has trained under Alberto Alonzo and Alora Haines in Gainesville, FL. and has worked with the Jose Limon Company and Fly By Night in NYC. Kurt is possibly the strongest smallest man we have ever met. If you haven't seen him perform in our shows, you MUST make an effort to do so this year. He is the master of many endearing but looney characters.
Kurt has also trained under the "Gemini Twins" from Cirque du Soleil, Carrie Heller, author and leading authority in aerial arts safety training, and with Ileigh Reynolds of "Flyspace" in Miami.


Rebecca Ostroff 
Aerial Master Classes
Becky comes to us from years of performing and touring. She is trained in Ballet, Graham Modern technique & Jazz. She has worked with David Parsons, Arnie Zane/Bill T. Jones and many other companies in Boston and NY in the 1980’s. In 1986 she began to play on trapeze…the rest is history!
In between teaching classes for us, she tours with various American circuses performing single trapeze, aerial fabric, Spanish web, Roman rings, rides elephants and is a beautiful magician’s assistant!

Carrie Heller
Aerial Training Workshops

A choreographer & performer with over 20 years experience, Carrie has appeared on CNN; at the Georgia World Congress Center; Emory University; The Rayburn Congressional Center in Washington D.C.; and at other events across the country.
She has worked with Cirque Du Monde; a Cirque Du Soleil Outreach Program that uses circus arts as an alternative educational approach to help youth in difficulty around the world.
Carrie is the author of the industry’s only Aerial Circus Training and Safety Manual, a guide for teachers and students in the Aerial Arts, and several other training manuals focusing on Circus Arts Therapy. Utilizing her manuals, Carrie conducts workshops for circus schools, gymnastics schools, camps and treatment centers, as well as individuals, families and groups throughout the country.
